Perfect getaway spot!
The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, with a comfy king bed. Loved the river view! The breakfast was delish, but wish they had teapots available right away. Some staff seemed a bit overwhelmed, made getting extras take a bit longer. Still a fab experience!

Reasonably large reasonable value hotel with a great location near to the compact town centre as well as an embankment. More than really kind and nice staff both at check-in and check-out.

My partner and I decided to choose this hotel to celebrate our 2nd anniversary together. The staff on the front desks were excellent, offering help and advice whenever we wanted it. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, you really couldn't ask for a hotel to be cleaner. The staff were very polite and the location of the hotel was great too as the main pubbing area was a 10 minute walk, as was the railway station.
To begin with the hotel was rather expensive, especially for the facilities on offer. The restaurant was extortionate, and very plain. The menu is very bland, and the portions you get are very small. The double bed we booked were 2 single beds pushed together and the quilt (duvet) were 2 single's put together.

The hotel was very clean and modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was perfect as the centre of Durham was within 5 minutes walking distance. Couldn't criticise anything. The food, facilities etc were perfect. One of the best hotels I've stayed in for some time! The room upgrade is worth considering and definitely value for money.

This is a modern, quality hotel with spotless, comfortable rooms. The health centre is good and free for guests to use - a great way to wind down at the end of the day.
Breakfast was good, with hot and cold choices. However, it's not cheap and tables ate not always cleared and re-set quickly.
